CSR in the middle of the financial crisis - the financial crisis and social initiatives

Everybody talks about the crisis and we are completely stopped asking "if things go well?". Instead, the question is:

"How bad is it with you?", "Fellows in too?" "You have also taken out unemployment insurance?" Etc.

Rarely has the mood been so negative that just now. Not just in Denmark but also globally. What started in the U.S. has now spread worldwide. Although growth eager China does not seem to go free. Enormous fortunes have disappeared as a result of the share slump and falling housing prices, but what does it mean for our social responsibility?

Three possible trends for CSR as a result of the crisis

How are Corporate Social Responsibility, or good Danish social responsibility in these times? Basically, one can imagine three possible outcomes as a result of the crisis.

  1. On the one hand, one could believe that the financial crisis forces companies to focus on the skræntene bottom line and that they therefore opt CSR initiatives. Perhaps with the view that the company must lay off employees, and therefore will not use funds for charitable purposes.
  2. On the other hand, it is increasing pressure on companies in relation to behave properly and help to take social responsibility - for example, try Googling "CSR - corporate social responsibility." And in times of crisis, which as we know them to build windbreaks and those who build windmills. Maybe it's just now that your business must defy the crisis and take the position of the business to behave properly and take part in some of society's many challenges
  3. New times create new opportunities. Decade after depresionen in the 20s there were many radical innovations, which in many great importance for our society today. Just think of the assembly line. Social innovation is about how to make commercial business while to solve social needs of society. Consider the example of LifeStraw , MYC4 , Better Place , etc.. The current crisis can be an inspiration to beat the old business models to death, and think innovatively and responsibly ...

Thanks for the movie. Generally high praise to the side. There are a lot of good information on CSR. There may need to work a little with registering for the newsletter?
